The BIOS Orthopedic Institute, formerly known as SAC Regenerative Orthopedics, is a premier destination for cutting-edge regenerative and interventional orthopedics in Sacramento, California. Founded by Dr. Alberto J. Panero, a distinguished expert in the field, the institute is dedicated to providing patients with advanced, minimally invasive treatments that harness the body's innate healing capabilities. With a philosophy centered on a holistic and patient-first approach, The BIOS Orthopedic Institute has established itself as a leader in sports medicine and regenerative therapies, attracting patients from all walks of life, from professional athletes to individuals seeking relief from chronic pain. The mission of The BIOS Orthopedic Institute is to offer personalized and comprehensive care that addresses the root cause of musculoskeletal conditions, rather than just managing symptoms. The institute is committed to advancing the science of regenerative medicine through continuous research, academic contributions, and the development of innovative techniques. This dedication to science and patient care is reflected in their state-of-the-art facilities, which include an in-house biologic laboratory and advanced imaging technologies like musculoskeletal ultrasound and fluoroscopy. This allows for precise diagnosis and targeted delivery of therapies, ensuring optimal outcomes for patients. The institute specializes in a wide range of regenerative treatments designed to repair and regenerate damaged tissues, reduce pain, and restore function without the need for invasive surgery. Key specialties include Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) therapy, a treatment that uses a concentration of a patient's own platelets to accelerate the healing of injured tendons, ligaments, muscles, and joints. Another area of expertise is the use of biologics, which involves harvesting and concentrating the body's natural healing factors to treat a variety of orthopedic conditions. The institute also offers advanced interventional orthopedic procedures, which use high-definition imaging to guide the precise delivery of therapies to injured tissues.
This approach minimizes recovery time and improves the efficiency of the healing process. The team at The BIOS Orthopedic Institute is comprised of highly skilled and experienced professionals who are passionate about providing the highest quality of care. Dr. Alberto J. Panero, the founder, is an internationally recognized expert in orthobiologics and interventional orthopedic procedures. Frequently Asked Questions
Interventional Orthopedics is a new and sophisticated approach to orthopedic procedures that aims to replace the invasiveness of surgery. By using high-definition imaging modalities like the nanoscope, musculoskeletal ultrasound, and fluoroscopy, we can precisely diagnose and deliver therapies directly to injured tissues without the need for a big incision. This can vastly improve the time and efficiency of healing/recovering from orthopedic injuries.
Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) therapy is a treatment that uses a concentration of a patient's own platelets to accelerate the healing of injured tendons, ligaments, muscles, and joints. The concentrated platelets are injected directly into the injured tissue, releasing growth factors that stimulate and increase the number of reparative cells your body produces.
Unfortunately, most insurance companies do not cover PRP therapy as it is still considered an experimental treatment. However, we offer various financing options and payment plans to help our patients acquire the care they need.
We commonly treat musculoskeletal injuries including tears, arthritis, tendinopathies, and spine conditions. We are passionate and truly committed to advancing the field of biologics and interventional orthopedics.
Anyone who has diminished quality of life due to problems with their body, such as chronic pain, decreased energy, or mobility issues, may be a candidate for regenerative therapy. Each person’s case is unique; therefore, it requires an in-depth consultation with a physician before determining whether or not you may be a candidate.
Recovery time varies depending on the individual and the specific procedure. However, because these treatments are minimally invasive, recovery time is typically much shorter than with traditional surgery. Most patients are able to return to their normal activities within a few days to a few weeks.
