About The cell clinic
The Cell Clinic, located in the Akasaka district of Tokyo, Japan, is a state-of-the-art regenerative medicine facility that opened its doors in early 2025. The clinic was founded with the mission of 'bringing regenerative medicine closer to everyday life' by providing advanced, personalized cellular therapies that support lifelong health and natural beauty. The clinic operates under the principle of 'cellular repair, regeneration, and reinforcement,' aiming to enhance the body's inherent regenerative capacity to support a healthier and more fulfilling life. The clinic is certified under Japan’s Act on Ensuring the Safety of Regenerative Medicine, with several of its regenerative medical plans officially accepted by the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare. These include autologous adipose-derived mesenchymal stem cell therapy for chronic pain and osteoarthritis of the knee, as well as preventive immunotherapy using NK cells. The clinic's philosophy is centered on providing safe and forward-thinking stem cell medicine through advanced treatment systems that integrate genome analysis with an in-house Cell Processing Facility (CPF). This integrated 'one-clinic' system allows for the entire process, from cell collection and cultivation to administration, to be managed under one roof, minimizing the risk of contamination and ensuring the highest standards of quality and safety. The clinic places a strong emphasis on safety, employing comprehensive whole-genome analysis before and after cell culture to ensure the quality and safety of the stem cells. This allows them to provide stem cells of the highest standard available in Japan.
The clinic's on-site CPF enables strict, integrated management of every step of the process, and patients can even request to observe the processing environment as part of the clinic's commitment to transparency and quality. In addition to its core regenerative medicine services, The Cell Clinic also offers 'Genomedock,' a preventive medical program that performs a comprehensive whole-genome analysis to identify hidden disease risks and genetic tendencies. This allows patients to understand their health scientifically and proactively, providing a long-term foundation for personal health planning. The clinic's facilities are modern and welcoming, with a comfortable waiting room, consultation rooms, and treatment rooms. The clinic is led by Director Dr. Aki Ihara, a board-certified plastic surgeon with extensive experience in regenerative medicine. The clinic's scientific advisor is Dr. Kotaro Yoshimura, a professor of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Jichi Medical University. The patient experience at The Cell Clinic is designed to be personalized and supportive. The clinic develops individualized treatment plans tailored to each patient’s goals and health needs. The staff includes physicians, nurses, cell culture specialists, and concierge staff, all dedicated to providing the highest level of care. The clinic's commitment to advancing the field of regenerative medicine is also demonstrated through its sponsorship of major sporting events, such as the PGA TOUR and the Japan Open Tennis Championships.

Frequently Asked Questions
Stem cell therapy is a regenerative treatment that uses the body's own natural ability to repair itself. At The Cell Clinic, we use autologous adipose-derived mesenchymal stem cells, which are extracted from the patient's own fat tissue, cultured in our in-house facility, and then administered back to the patient to help repair and regenerate damaged tissues.
We offer stem cell therapy for a variety of conditions, including chronic pain, osteoarthritis of the knee, and for general wellness and anti-aging purposes. We also offer preventive immunotherapy using NK cells.
The Cell Clinic places the highest priority on safety. We are certified under Japan’s Act on Ensuring the Safety of Regenerative Medicine and our treatments are approved by the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare. We perform comprehensive whole-genome analysis on the stem cells before and after cultivation to ensure their safety and quality. Our in-house Cell Processing Facility (CPF) also minimizes the risk of contamination.
The process begins with an initial consultation to determine if you are a suitable candidate. If so, a small amount of fat tissue is extracted. The stem cells are then isolated and cultured for approximately 4-5 weeks. After rigorous quality and safety checks, the cells are administered back to the patient via IV infusion or local injection.
The cost of stem cell therapy varies depending on the specific treatment plan. For example, a single session of autologous adipose-derived mesenchymal stem cell therapy with 200 million cells costs ¥4,000,000. We recommend scheduling a consultation to receive a personalized treatment plan and cost estimate.
